Jonathan Rouleau is a PhD candidate in Communication Studies in the Department of Art History & Communication Studies at McGill University. His thesis examines the ways in which the four universities and the diverse student population in Montreal structure, shape, and represent the cultural scenes in and spaces of the city. His research interests include urban culture, photography, popular music, and urban tourism. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Laboratory of Urban Culture Fellow at Salon 1861 in Montreal in association with McGill’s Institute for the Public Life of Arts and Ideas.
